The Downtown Artists Co-op is a group of artists and interested citizens of the Clarksville-Montgomery County area and our neighboring Tennessee and Kentucky counties who are dedicated to creating a greater community with, of,  for, and through the arts. Additionally, the DAC’s vision is to serve as a beacon of awareness of the arts, a strong supporter and active member of art-related events in the area and serve as a co-contributor to the holistic wellbeing of the community through the arts.

Some of the activities in which the Co-op is involved are:

• Host and sponsor 3 Juried Art Events Annually

• Outreach initiatives to regional schools

• Gallery exhibits by members and other art-supporting groups

• Supporting veteran wellness though collaborative efforts with local veteran support agencies

• Holiday Arts and Crafts Bazaar​

MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY:Membership in the Downtown Artists Co-op is open to artists and artisan crafters, who apply, are eighteen years of age and older, meet the standards of original artwork set by the DAC, are residents of Tennessee or Kentucky, and qualify through the jurying process. Additionally, subscribe to the vision, objectives, and purposes of the DAC, and agree to abide by the policies, rules and guidelines of the Co-op.
           Original artwork is, in principle, art that is produced by an artist’s hand. We define it as:
               Artwork that is original in concept, composition, and execution; solely created by the artist.


MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATIONS
In addition to meeting membership eligibility, to qualify for membership, the potential member must demonstrate

• A professional commitment to the visual arts through continued production and exhibition of his/her visual art/craft.

• Demonstrate a dedication to the creative community of Clarksville through participation in local art events.

• Personally commit to and work one regular four-hour shift per month for maintaining DAC business hours.

• Contribute time and expertise to one of the several DAC divisions to help in running the organization.     

• Pay dues. Dues are $25 per month. Dues may be paid quarterly in January, April, July, and October, or monthly if by automatic bank draft. Members must inform the treasurer whether paying quarterly or monthly.
